have a 1982 528e and since I have owned it, it has not run. I have replaced all fuel related equipment from tank to engine. The next thing is coil, spark plugs, distr cap, rotor and wires. I have tried to diagnose the reference and speed sensor and I think I have found the problem, according to the ohmmeter. Has anyone else had to replace these things or am I out in left field.....????? any reply would help thanks, john

It's not uncommon for them to need replacement. Luckily the previous owner of my car did them right before I bought it... I've heard they're kind of a PITA.
