M20 is popular as is the S14.

Why not boost the M10?

Are you looking for 300 at the crank or the wheels?

Ever consider a 200HP shot of nitrous? They say that NO2 is the most economical way to make great increases in power.:eyecrazy

GM 350 cheaper. Then Again I have a GM 3.8 V6 and I decided to put it in a 320 instead of an 02. Seriously there are 300 hp turbo'd M20s out there. Hmmm, wonder what I could get in the V6 with a terbooo

I have several friends with Buick GNXs and they are all playing with between 400-500 HP by adding larger trubos to the factory setup.

Tossing around a Mazda BP swap into a 02. 300 dependable hp is no problem, and parts are cheap. Bottom of that motor is strong, even has squirters. Shorter than an honda or nissan options.
Even stock it would give more power and have the same character with modern attributes and parts availability.

The BP series is a SOLID engine. Too bad the [American] tuning market has vastly overlooked it b/c of the fact it's mostly in a "girls" car. It's rather sad really, b/c that is a GREAT engine. Hell even the miata itself is a great car ... don't know why most men in America get all weird b/c it was marketed as a woman's car. In Japan the Roadster was marketed as a DRIVERS car! :D

But anyway, the BP can do a solid 300 all day and be ultra reliable. 400 on pump gas is not out of the question as long as all the peripherals are working in unison. I'd personally LOVE to see someone do that swap with a mid-sized snail hanging on the exhaust side of things. :buttrock

My current Miata makes 227rwhp with 9psi of boost from a twin screw and just a Begi FPR. Runs every day. I would go turbo again if I did it over, but I wanted to try a twin screw.

How much power can a 02 rear diff and half shafts take before they become a problem?
