Did you unplug that connector? If not, leave it alone. Its probably a loose harness for something that comes on another model e34.
I could not tell you exactly what tho.

I say if everything works without it, leave it unplugged ... if not, then plug it in and see.

it was like that when I took the battery out, and I don't have any accessories that do not work so......?????
the PO did a lot of stupid things with harness like plug the wrong one into the windshield fluid pump..........I am curious to plug them together to see what happens but I just don't know.
can someone with my model remove their seat and see if these connectors are together or left apart?

Look for the BMW 7 digit or 11 digit part nbr (doubt it has the 11 digit nbr since it's so small)...the go to www.realoem.com and click on the "search by part nbr" link at the very bottom of the page (see image below).
See if those connectors are listed in the parts database...if they are...you'll know exactly or get an idea of what they go to.
I know that the EDC control unit is one option that is installed in that area, and if you don't have EDC...then those connectors could be for that unit.
Plus, the perspecitve of your pic (too close in) is difficult to tell exactly where the wires are...can you pull back some so we can see better? :)
