I'm talking as in racing. I've already read BMW's numbers for acceleration to 60, where the i has a slight advantage over the xi as the added traction does not overcome the added weight (the opposite of the 335, where the added traction apparently more than compensates for the weight). Transmission choice and driver skill blur those numbers further, but I'm not talking straight line anyway. That's boring. I'm talking on a road track.

Has anyone ever seen a real head to head between a 328i and xi doing laps? Or 335s for that matter.

I know AWD is considered an unfair advantage in many race series. My Googling just can't find any real world tests, though.
