Well after me and mrdezyne attempted to breath life back into my paint as seen here http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=852111&page=2 the paint looked great for a couple of days until I washed it again... we unfortunately didn't cut deep enough and the oxidation came back.

Slightly deterred by all the work with such a quick reappearance I thought a new paint job was the only option. But the other day when I was at Advance Auto parts I noticed that they had a 10" porter random orbital cable polisher on sale for 20 bucks marked down from 60, I think. So long story short I bought it and decided to give the paint another go before totally giving up.

Then here are a couple that I snapped really quick during this attempt.

And my constant companions throughout the entire ordeal :D.

And afterwards.

Still not exactly what I wanted but as long as it lasts for more that one wash I'll be ok with it.

dude, lets cut holes for those speakers. better yet lets put nice 5 1/4 in and do away with the 6x9, 6x9's make crappy music anyways.

Did you seal it after the polish? That's probably why it oxidized after your first attempt if you didn't. Sealing is very important...

Nice E30 by the way. Reminds me of mine back in the day...

you need to put a really good carnuba wax on it to seal in the finish, it will continue to oxidize everytime you wash it until you do this.

Also the Klasse sealant is really great. Only needs to be used twice a year, and the paint will look amazing. Get the Klasse package with the polish, sealant and all the polishing and applicator pads from autogeek. I got a good deal on mine.
