i have a 3:73 lsd out of an e30. It has a little bit of rust on the casing but i assure you it works fine as it is installed on my vehicle at the moment. I have just recently as of 3,000 miles ago replaced the rear cover gasket. I'm only looking to get $230 + shipping costs!

to be honest i do not think it can, maybe if the rear cover plate was changed.... but as it sits right now it should bolt up to an e30, e36 hatchbacks, z3's, and e28 cars because they all have the same rear suspension setup iirc

Ok thanks. I'll leave it alone, I'm too much of a newb to attempt it.

to fit the e30 373 into an e28, you need to swap out the output flanges and mounting boss. 20 minute job. replace the gaskets and seals while your in there.
