I need to change my battery and I can not for the life of figure out how to pop it open.
The manual says there should be a small screwhole on the rear seatbelt receivers it also shows the receivers on the inside of the seats near the center arm rest instead of the outside near the doors, but my receivers have no screwholes and are against the doors instead of in the center. I've tried just pulling the covers off but I can't seem to get them lose nor does there seem a way I can pry them off without damaging my interior or breaking the plasic covering.
Anyone experienced in doing this that could point out what i'm doing wrong or something I've overlooked?

all you have to do is pull up on the front of the bottom seat cushion and it should pull right out, you'll have to pull fairly hard as they can be a bit of a pain sometimes...hope this helps.

So that's all it takes? A good heave on the front of the back seat?
I tried a little, but didn't want to break anything.

Yep, you have to put a bit of muscle into it. It will pop.

Something else to note is that the option sheet for your car, i.e. the document with all the build codes etc should be stuck on the underside of the rear seat. Just something interesting to keep.:)

That's pretty neat. I'll have to look at that tomorrow.

If you put some sort of oil on the spring clip like 3-in-1 oil it makes it easier to pull the seat out in the future.

Cool video! Felt like watching This Old House or something along those lines.

Video is awesome. Same procedure worked for removing the back seat in my '02 530i.
