S50 Head recently rebuilt by Chuck Stickley. Less then 250 miles. Fresh valve job, new retainers, valve guides, and keepers. Paid just over $1000 to have it rebuilt.

Yes, I know the heads are the same for S50, S52, M50 amd M52. The S52 I am picking up comes with a head but not some of the other parts to make it complete. Therefore, I am having to swap some of my parts from my S50 to this S52 to make it complete.

If I can ask, what does Stickley do the stock head for $1K?

Just a question and a free bump....why not hold onto this head as a spare?

I used it as part of my justification to my wife to let me get the S52. We just had a baby so things are changing a bit and I can't keep all the toys/parts like I would have in the past.

Disassembly cleaning and re-assembly is probably like a 3 hour job. If all the valves, springs, and retainers are new than that price sounds about right.

Hmm I am interested...I need to make sure I have the cash available right now...I was gonna have my mechanic rebuild for me, but would rather have one from a shop that does more volume of them.
