View Full Version : Are solid rear rotors available for 95 e36 m3 zemaestro 11-14-2007, 12:08 AM I need a solid rear rotor, with the correct "hat" to fit the M3 parking brake.....thanks for the info nickdrivesm3 11-14-2007, 12:18 AM uhhhh stock rotors? ScotcH 11-14-2007, 12:49 AM you mean non vented? zemaestro 11-14-2007, 09:34 AM Yes, non vented. My car has Stoptechs. Did I wrongly assume that the stockers on a 95' m3 were vented. From what I found on the forum some other e36's used solid rotors, but they will not let me retain my parking brake....Thanks for the help! TXBDan 11-14-2007, 09:54 AM Yes, stock rears are vented. Why do you need solid discs? JamesM3M5 11-14-2007, 11:21 AM Yes, non vented. My car has Stoptechs. Did I wrongly assume that the stockers on a 95' m3 were vented. Maybe you should restate exactly what you have and what you want to accomplish. You're not making any sense. You have Stoptechs but want non-vented rotors?!? Stoptech only uses vented rotors. You mean you want non-cross-drilled rotors? I don't think anyone else here can understand what you're trying to get at, either. zemaestro 11-14-2007, 08:17 PM No, its exaclty as I said, I have stoptechs on the rear, with stock calipers. I asked if anyone makes a solid (non-vented, non-cross drilled) rotor that will bolt on the rear of an e36 M3...I want smaller rotors, but 325/328 rotors will not allow me to use my parking brake. So, if I get solid rotors and turn them down on the lathe I will get exactly what I want... Thanks Travis Def 11-14-2007, 08:24 PM You have what part from Stoptech on the rear? How can you have "Stoptechs," but also be using the stock calipers(unless these are replacement rotors or something). Why would you want smaller rotors than the stock ones? Trying to fit smaller wheels for drag racing usage? nickdrivesm3 11-14-2007, 09:09 PM I'm so lost. Stoptechs on the rear but you have stock calipers? uhh...ok Besides, only M3 rotors will fit due to the different size hub of the M3s. You could try a less aggressive pad. Or a brake bias valve. You could contact various manufacturers of two-piece rotors, and inquire about getting a custom rotor and hat/drum made. It won't be cheap ... |
