So I'm shopping for a sedan and am leaning towards the '06 330i mainly b/c the engine is a little stronger. Would anyone recommend an '07 328i over an '06 330i?

I'd always suggest the newer car. The 328 is like 10hp less than the 330 so it realistically won't be noticed.

If it's a NEW 328 vs a used 330; I'd go new every time.

If they're both used go with the 330

I'd say go with the best deal, and I agree if the deals are relatively comparable, go with the brand new car, if for nothing, just for the added warranty and free maintenance window.

Interesting question as I was presented with the choice of a preowned 2006 330i vs a 2008 328i..

The 330i does not have the 4/50 that is offered with every new BMW..which to me is worth the extra expense alone!

Do you mean the '06 model doesn't have 4/50 and that it has something like a 3/36 or do you mean it's already used up some of its 4/50 compared to a brand new '08?

I'd take the new car every time.

I test drove both of these cars and bought the 2006 330i hands down. It was so much more responsive to the throttle, i.e. quicker, it was a no brainer for me. I bought the car new in 07/07, as it was a left over, never titled car with 200 miles on it.
Not only did I get the 4yr/50,000 mile warranty, but BMW also gave me the 6yr/100,000 mile CPO warranty as well.

You really did well!
