I agree the towers look solid. Body looks to be in good shape from what I can see, but who knows could be a POS. Allz i know is I bought a 2002 of a member on this board(plus i got ripped off like a idiot-learn young), and well the body is solid with some minimal rust, but the engine and engine bay was a disaster.

yeah no money shots of the engine bay, could be a real dog, I remember after I got mine home and first poped the hood (the car was a wedding present from my father-in-law and was his car) it was a nightmare, no rust but a lot of work was needed.

I had dried radiator fluid residue chilling on my pistons. I removed almost a gallon of crap from inside the engine. I would def look at that car before buying it. Looks like it needs a little work on the outside, but probably needs a lot on the inside.

My mother had a 2002. I distinctly remember it not being all that complicated under the hood. We called it the fire breather because my dad would burn his eyebrows off shooting fluid into the carb.

Agreed. an 02's engine compartment is nothing to be scared of. After taking a basic gasoline engine's course (they had one at my highschool, worked on go karts, lawn mowers, etc. kinda cool) you could learn enough to keep one of these things in healthy running order. very basic, very simple.

I'm 2 hours away from that barn. I don't have the space and have been spending way too much money lately, but I sent him an email anyway asking for more details. No response yet.

I saw that car advertised somewhere else too, said it did not run. Guy did not sound like a "hands on" guy.
