I hate how my hazard light indicator lights up so brightly at night. Is there a way to either remove the bulb or cut the wiring so that I don't have to stare at the bright red triangle?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks! dshilkit 04-01-2003, 01:30 AM that light is dimmed by the dash light dimmer, but i suppose that isn't dim enough. you don't say what car, so i can't offer too much. bentley has the wiring diagrams in my E36 book, and the fix you'd need for that car would be a one-wire snip. if other switches are similar, you could do the whole job with a dmm, wire cutters and some tape... sbelletti 04-01-2003, 10:47 AM Oh sorry! It's a 1996 328is... if you could let me know which wire to snip, I'd appreciate it! C///M 04-01-2003, 11:03 AM The blue/green wire is the "on" position wire that goes to the hazard light system. Brown is ground, and grey/red goes to the dimmer (the "off" position), according to page ELE-216 of the Bentley manual ((Interior lights/illumination: 1994-97 Except 318ti & Convertible (1 of 2)"). Hypothetically, cutting the grey/red should disconnect the light. I'm not responsible if this breaks something else, though, so proceed at your own risk... C///M 04-01-2003, 11:04 AM BTW - "on" and "off" refer to the switch position, not lighting. |
