I am getting ready to install PSS9's on my M3. However, I have been told that getting an alignment is necessary after the installation.

Is this true or even necessary?

Best regards,

Chris

Yep, very true. You'll have to get an alignment every time after you adjust the ride height too.

Bollocks... I have had my PSS9 system on for a year and (changed the ride hight several time before I found the height that I liked) ride stright and true with no abnormal tire wear front or rear. Enjoy the system... you paid enough for it.

really? Didn't know you could do that... I had heard that you need to get another each time.

Is it necessary? Sometimes yes, Sometimes no... it just depends on how hard the guy who is installing the coilovers is on the suspension when he's making the change.

Granted, for every inch or so you lower the car, you are introducing about 1.06 degrees of negative camber (from the stock setting). Normally anything more than 1.5 degrees (increased from stock) will result in abnormal tire wear.

Yes you need to due an alignment, take it from someone who works on these cars, you need to due an alignment. Are you doing this for show or go?

It's mostly for go, I am only lowering the car probably an inch to an inch and a half. I still want ground clearance, as a daily driver speed bumps are still a threat. I am tracking the car though.

Since you are tracking the car, you should definetly get the car aligned, make sure that you camber is okay, and that it isn't too negative. You might even look into maybe getting the car corner weighted. If you spent the $$$$ on the PSS9 suspension, you might as well make sure it is on perfect and nothing less than perfect, especially if you are going to be tracking the car. just my .02 cents
