What kinda tire shine do you use?
After I heard about that guy spinning out after he used that crap on his tires, i have been staying away from those.
Is there a specific type of shine that is to be used? or a way of putting it on that will prevent 'spinning out'
thanks

Turtle wax makes a tire wax, apply it to a dry clean tire, let it haze, rub it off to a nice shine, lasts forever, and doesn't come off on your paint when you drive it shortly after applying it...

I like the Meguiars gold class stuff, comes with a applicator pad so you don't spray junk on your wheels which is nice and it lasts a real long time. Plus they have it on sale at target sometimes for like $2...:D

As long as you apply the tire stuff in a controlled manner (e.g., by hand) and never let it get on the treads, you shouldn't have to worry about losing traction.
FWIW, I use One Grand ERV, which leaves a nice satin finish when I buff it off.

I use Black Magic tire shine spray... it works pretty well. At first it looks ghetto and greasy but with a few miles of driving it takes on a deep black hue. You'll only encounter traction problems if you coat the whole tread with it like a dumbass and not just the sidewall... you'd also have to attempt a high speed turn immediately to have traction problems even if you covered the whole tire, as the compound wears off soon if it's in contact with the road.

I like the armoral foam. About 2 minutes after you spray it on your tires shine like new !

Hi.
I use the "Black Magic" wet-look type stuff.
It comes in a bottle, and the best way I've found to apply it is with the "Eagle One" contoured applicator sponges that are specifically designed for applying that stuff.
I've never had problems with it slinging off and getting on my paint.
A few things to remember:
-Do NOT use a lot. I've been using the same applicator sponge for many months, and it has become quite saturated with the tire shine. So much so, that the last time I washed my car, I only put a thin bead on the applicator, did one tire, and then didn't apply any more to the sponge for the rest of the tires!!!
A little goes a long way. Most likely, if you apply too much, you will get slings.
-Let it sit for a while before driving. I *think* it says so on the back of the bottle, but either way, its a good idea to let your car sit for as long as possible before driving it after you put tire stuff on. I always wash my car in the late afternoon, and very often don't drive anywhere for the rest of the night, so it sits overnight.
This also helps reduce slinging.
That said, I am probably going to try some stuff that isn't so glossy; maybe the Zymol tire shine or something that has a more "satin" look to it.
I really like the stuff I use now, and it lasts a long time, but I just want to try something new.
Whew. Sorry for the long post, but hope I helped!

I would have to go with the gels like meguiars endurance. My company has developed a tire true gel with a nice satin finish. I've been using it for about 2 months, the part I like about this new gel is that it doesn't come off. Also it doesn't turn your tires brown when is coming off.
feel free to read about it.

I'm always in search of the ultimate tire dressing... Has anyone used Jason's Detailer's Pride Emerald Tire Gel?

Zaino tire gloss is the best hands down looks the best and last the longest. Alot of the other ones everyone are talking about are OK but some of them really attract brake dust instead of repelling it, at least in my experience with them.
