I need advice on what oil to use in my 89 E30. I live in the South (temp ranges of 35 degrees F to 85 for the next few months). The car is driven about 100 miles a month or less. Mileage is 110K.

10-40 or 15-40. It's not that important of a choice which weight as long as it's a quality oil.

castrol high mileage 20/50.....Bmw recommends 15w50 but ive only found that in synthetic...just go w 20w50 and you'll be fine

20w50 will be fine in in the deep south. Castrol GTX or the high mileage variant are easy to find and are suitable.
