He had another thread where someone bought stuff from him. 3 weeks later and the guy hasn't even called back. That's why I said this buyer is out 250 bucks. Is there a way to issue an advisory warning?

His name is John Dennis. There are some stats on line from an autox event he participated in this summer, so somebody's got to know him. Who knows what's going on, but something tells me if people he knows get to him, he will come through. Anyone??

Actually, I'm hoping that someone friendly to him, or at least well acquainted, will step up and get this sorted out. He ran with the Equipe Rapide club this past summer at Pennington Field on 24 July. Surely someone knows him.

I'm hoping someone will be able to appeal to his sense of decency.

In the future, if a new user comes on the board frantically trying to sell stuff, bumping prices down drastically after only 1 or 2 days, you might want to consider waiting around... Then again, hindsight is always 20/20.

If someone would go so far to think about doing something like this, let alone actually doing it, I think you'd be crazy to appeal to their 'sense of decency'. This isn't an emotionally driven impulse crime. He had to have thought this out cold and calculated.

Besides, you find him, and get him to ship the stuff (which probably doesn't even exist). All he does is refund the money. He loses nothing. :nono What's to prevent him from learning from this and doing it again?

If it were me, I'd find him, and do as much as I can to sue him into the dirt! :evil2

PS - In case you can't tell, I had my house robbed before by people I'd met before. I have no sympathy at all for these types of people. If I ever managed to find the people who stole from me, I would not even think before sending them to jail :nono
