Going in an e21, M10 engine mostly stock at the moment. I already have a megasquirt, harness, 30lb injectors(for now), EDIS ignition, everything setup for management. Im looking at T3/T4s, just wondering what you guys think is the right one.
I dont want a 5k spool turbo, but i definately want room to grow, i dont wanna hit the ceiling and then have to change the whole setup. If it spools around 3500rpm thats fine. Also i dont think a coolant cooled/ball bearing turbo is necessary for my needs. Like to be able to eventually make around 300hp.(I know its a lotta work for an m10, but id like a turbo that is capable of the power) Also id like an external gate turbo.

So whatta you guys think?

What is the displacement on that again? A 57 trim t3/t4 hybrid .58 a/r or .63 hot side should do it I think. Give you the spool you need and can flow more than you need.

Holset hy35 or hx30/35 would work great on a small stock m10.

Its a 1.8, and a .63 t3/t4 is where im leaning towards at the moment. A friend of mine had one on his 1.8L vw engine and it made ~260whp with a bad tune.

True a gt28r would be nice if i was doin a bb turbo, but its almost a $1000 turbo and i dont think its necessary for this setup. If i was building a 6 for big horsepower id consider a GT turbo.

Ban?

I would go for something around a 50trim http://cheapturbo.stores.yahoo.net/gat350trw63a.html

That should have plenty of room to grow and have good spool on your motor.

To the O/P, I have a Garrett 60 Trim turbocharger with 1,000 miles on it that I'm looking to sell. It will fit your project perfectly! I'm going for a GT35R for my next project! Let me know!

I'd go T3/T4 60 trim, .63a/r. Cheap, proven, easy to find.

Thats exactly what I have for sale! Great little turbo, if it wasn't my quest for more power, I wouldn't even sell it. Plus GT35R turbochargers are fantastic and I want it :D!

But why would you want more power?

It's really because of you Cam :buttrock! In all seriousness, I have a chance of completing a new build utilizing the GT35R. The car runs great as of now but it's time has come to upgrade. This specific turbocharger won't bring me the number that I'm looking for, so over the winter, some changes will be made!

I don't need more power, more like I want more power! I'm getting used to the power level accomplished, time for the next step.
