With her build date being 11/97, she is 10 years old this month. I like this car as much now as I did when I first spotted it almost 10 years ago. She became mine in April 2002 and I like this car as much today as I did then. A few pics to celebrate:

And one of my favorite shots. Frosty morning at Lime Rock:

Congrats on the 10 year mark. Mine is right around the corner. April 2008.

Incidentally, in the compartment where the DME is located, I found a piece of tape around a wiring harness where it was handwritten in ink: 16.4.98, indicating a potential build date of April 16, 1998 for my car. (It's birthday!) This corresponds with the week-of-build date that is accessible through the OBC. (Or at least it was before I had the pixel display replaced.)

Beautiful color, and I like the painted moldings.

I'm going to have to go look for that.

Thanks for the tip!

Very nice 540. Same Year as mine. I should post picks, it's in mint condition like yours.

What's your mileage? My 97 is currently @ 47K

Beautiful color and rare! May you have another 10 years with her!

Love the splitters in front. Was that part of a whole kit (front back and sides) or available separately? Where did you get the splitter from?

I have done a few events with them at Englishtown NJ as well. It is a blast to do one of these with like minded friends. Maybe we'll need to do an Englishtown event with some of us e39er's next year!

Thanks for the kind words!

All these ground effects were offered by BMW at one point. The previous owner had all the ground effects, M5 lip and rub strips color matched and installed together. The only issue I have is that the side skirts reflect a somewhat wavy surface which seems to be getting worse over time. I may end up replacing or removing them.

Yeah they are a ton of fun. Beats the hell out of your body though. I live about 20 minutes from Limerock just didn't get to do an event this year. I wanted to though. We should figure out something for next year with a couple of us.
