i know it was very very uncommon, i believe it was a special order from the factory.

i just want to make sure i got this right....Avus blue was an optional color on 95 M3's and some later e36, at least in the US, correct?

also how close is topaz blue to avus blue? could you confuse them siting next to eachother?

i have looked around some but couldn't find in finite information

The e 36 M3 color that most people think of which was only available as a special order BMW Individual on e39's is called Estoril Blue. I am aware of only three of these cars on any of the on-line forums although there might be a few more in circulation. One of those was wrecked.

They didnt make avus 5ers did they? other than special orders and M's.

Topaz is pretty close. ive had a few M5 confuse mine with Avus and LeMans blue:rolleyes

i am not thinking about estoril blue, Avus blue was an optional color that e36's had as well, much more common in the UK. but yes estoril blue is a neat color.

Avus blue is the color i have and is the color i am talking about.

well i looked into it, and my car was a special order from the factory and hence it has on it , BMW "Individual". I have seen one other perso to son on this forum with my car Avus blue on there 5er.


just trying to find out more info on my color on this car and the whole bmw "individual" that is placed on the car.
