Does the 77-79 front valance fit the later models? I really like the look of the two big slots better than the later valance, but I'm undecided, I don't want my car to be recognized as an early model when it isn't. I'm already going to have to do lots of welding to whatever valance I do use, so does anyone have some ideas for customization (to either early or late)? I'll be filling in the bumper holes and extending it lower to the ground, and possibly widening the entire thing to make it blend into the body better with no bumpers.

I like the idea and definately like the earlier grills better than the slots on the later valance. I wouldn't worry about people misidentifying your car. The valance won't look stock anyway, plus you'll still have the later mirros and dash.

If you're already planning on welding some, I'm sure you can handle redrilling holes if things don't line up, so I'm sure you can make one fit. I would guess it's a simple bolt on anyway.

LOL, who would be able to tell the differene besides us. I can pretty much assure you that 99.9% of the people who will see your car in person wont know any better. AFAIK they are interchangeable
