I just got a rieger infinity kit on my e36 and first day out, I manage to crack the front bumper and mess up the paint job. what's the best way (besides driving like a grandma) to protect this from happening in the future?

I may get the hamann type splitter but not sure how this will look on the rieger kit.

will have pics posted soon.

thanks in advance.

Why did you post this twice?

Best way, take off the lip.
Next best, drive carefully and don't take bumps too fast.

No prob.:)
You can delete by hitting the delete/edit button at the bottom of
post.
It'll take you to the reply window and at top check to delete.

I don't have any suggestions for you to protect your bumper.
If you can adjust the ride height, that might be a good way to avoid hitting the lip on very driveway or speed bump.:az:

One method that I've found to work very well, is to have the lower add-on covered in Clear-Bra (by 3M) or and equivalent (stongard). Not only does it protect your paint, and add-on from damage due to road debry... but it also adds extra durability. If you ever damage it badly enough to crack the lip, it'll literally hold it together for you. But for the most part, it does a great job at dissipating the impact.

Sorry to hear about your new lip. Hope the next one works out better for ya!

thanks for the advice. i will look into getting the stongard. for now i think duct tape on the under panel w/ suffice for holding what's still intact befoer i can get it back to the body shop next week.
