Need to push the Honoring of Veterans at Barbers Point, these are our own Heros who have fallen on hard times and need our help. I want to be able to help them out by donating some toiletries to make life a little bit easier and if they want to look at the car then so be it. But most of all to volunteer and give something back to these guys and girls.

Wish I could have made it to the show at BP. Would have enjoyed chatting with some of those guys. One of the things that I really liked about living in Europe, especially going to Normandy, was the ability to talk with some of the local people there who were around during D-Day. A lot of people here in the states seem to have a negative opinion of the French, but let me tell you; all of that seems to wash away when you have an elderly Frenchman approach you (while you are in uniform), salute you and then break down into tears as he describes what had gone on in the time leading up to the invasion and thanking you for all the sacrifices that we made to ensure their freedom.

There were veterans from the Korean war up to the present wars in Iraq and Afganistan. These are people who ran into hard times and are in the process of getting their lives back together. Our donations were very much appreciated and we got to eat with these Heros and to show that we cared and appreciated what they did for their country.

We also did the Wahiawa Veterans Parade with 6 generations of Vettes being present.
