View Full Version : DAMAGE! autobody in seattle.
TOday in the morning on the way to work, going onto a freeway onramp, not speeding at all, had total control, ground was not even that wet.
Hydroplaned all of a sudden, lost control and hit the concrete barrier.
Front damage only, entire front bumper is screwed, both sides, kind of "T boned" the concrete barrier, skid against it.
No engine damage it looks like, no fluid leaking. Hood is popped up and dented, lights all broken.
any suggestions? or good autobody repair in seattle?

Bmw Rollin' 11-07-2007, 04:14 PM I use RS Auto Rebuild on Rainier. Bruce, the owner is a great guy and he gets things done. My Family and I have used his shop for years. The shops # is 206-323-3112. For me it has been mainly painting and install, but still great prices. He has done work on my parent's cars at half the cost of quotes from other shops. Work is exceptional and if for any reason you are dissatisfied they will usually fix it at no cost. Ex. they painted my OEM bumper moldings, one started peeling almost a year later. Brought it into the shop and they repainted it w/ no fuss.
racer00000 11-07-2007, 04:45 PM i use g w autorebuild on aurora. i know the owner and have worked with them before. great work. stetner on lake city i hear does great work as well. there are a few places downtown my dad just took his car too, and they did great work. even took out a dent from some one leaning on his car.
herz3mc 11-07-2007, 05:43 PM I just had a great experience at Haury's with my 02 MCoupe - I would highly recommend them.
Don't let your insurance company tell you where to go - it's up to you.
Hello, about the insurance company telling you where to go, i hear HAUrys charges higher prices, so the insurance company will only pay "standard prices" and you end up paying the difference. Did you have this problem with your insurance? I use farmers.
Shifty1 11-07-2007, 08:47 PM Haurys did take care of me on my truck, but there were a few things with the repair I was not real pleased with. I am sure it was because it was a truck and not a bmw. I would probably take my car back there if the need were to arise. Just my .02:cool
Lance Racing 11-08-2007, 06:01 PM Haury's sees more wrecked BMWs than any other shop in Seattle. The owner drives an E36 M3. They are the go-to place for many in the local BMW club. Especially the track crowd they wreck their BMWs at the track frequently. I'd get a quote from them before deciding on anyone. If they are charging more, it is only because they are not cutting corners.
I used them when we had to perform major surgery on my E30 race car. Also used them on my wife's E36 when a Suburban backed into it.
todor 11-08-2007, 11:06 PM Haury's would probably do the best work out of all places in Seattle. Jeff (the owner) really knows every inch of the E36 body and how to fix it back to its original state when it's damaged.
I recently went to Haury's for an estimate (to fix minor damage from a scrape that someone did to my car when it was parked) and the repair cost was higher than what the insurance company of the guy at-fault agreed to pay. Supposedly, the body shop can negotiate with the insurance company after the fact, but it didn't sound real promising. It seems like insurance companies hate Haury's - partly because of higher prices, partly because Jeff takes the time to explain to his customers what their rights are in a claim, and how to milk the insurance companies.
In the end I decided the scrape is not worth neither Haury's price, nor what the insurance company gave me, so I just kept the money, bought a new turn signal from ebay, and I'm still driving with the scrape.
I think in your case the best you can hope for is that they total your car (if they agree to pay fair market value), then you get yourself another M3, buy back the crashed car for cheap, swap your upgrades out of it, and sell the remainder as a running car for $3000-4000. But that's only if you're able and willing to put the time into it.
