did anyone paint their roll bar covers? i am thinking to paint mine to black. car is silver and the interior is black. so it might look good.

how can i paint them, and where can i get those paints?

Actually, I was thinking ripping off the darn cheap looking and feeling plastic thing would be pretty neat, simply because the actual metal bar underneath is cooler looking, and it's already painted black. I won't do this, simply because I just got my car, and I don't know if it's even safe or ok to do, but just about the only thing that is cheap (aside from cupholders) on Z4s is the darn roll bars. My Z3 had better looking roll bars that were foam covered and curved, but the Z4 boxy plastic ones just look..blah

I've seen a Maldives Blue on another forum with black painted roll covers. Looks great, i'm going to do the same.

i got the paint (flat black) and primer today. i painted a very small area of inner side of one of the covers to see how it will look like. waiting for it to dry now. but i am pretty busy these days. it might take a week to complete painting & installing the whole thing.

You could use just electric tape. Black color is easy.

sorry, i was not clear. the reason for the test is to see how good the paint is.

but your idea is good though.

I bought the black mesh wind screen mostly to hide the plastic roll bar covers. Nice looking chrome or black metal covers would be a great after market item for someone (LeatherZ?).
