Maybe later, I want to get everything looking good before I go performance.
mitchelrl 11-06-2007, 10:58 PM 11/07/07
Stop being russian and buy a cleaner car.
If all of this stuff has to be done, there's god knows how many other things that are going to go wrong very soon here.

theres not that many things that need to be replaced, just a lot of things that he WANTS to change, but dont NEED to be changed.

shouldn't it be the other way around?

Aka, I want to look faster than I am, LOL.

Hey a 328 stock is fast enough for me (it does have a cold air intake), I just want a nice clean ride. Also the issues with this car are just the usual wear and tear on a car. Hell we are driving 12 year old cars here.
Yet another thing, I don't have the cash to throw out, I have other things to do like, snowboarding, family trip to Florida and a trip to Germany next year.
I will add pictures too...
3DGE95Ti 11-06-2007, 11:55 PM I posted images, still haven't cleaned the car yet since buying it...sometime I will get around too it. TOO BUSY WORKING 9 HOUR DAYS!

screw body mods and performance mods. do basic maintenance first. 109k? has the plugs been changed? oil? most likely time for new shocks. what shape are the subframe bushings in? strut bushings? BRAKES? control arms? did you get any paperwork on the car to verify any work done on it?
Also the issues with this car are just the usual wear and tear on a car. Hell we are driving 12 year old cars here.
ok so, you let your TI fall apart because you didnt pay attention to any of this. do it right this time around with a much nicer car.
Yet another thing, I don't have the cash to throw out, I have other things to do like, snowboarding, family trip to Florida and a trip to Germany next year.
youre quick to point out all that you want to do, yet when someone says fix something else first you go right to the excuse that you have other things to spend money on, which is more important? snowboarding? or having a car to drive you to the mountain? you cant drive a broke down car. maybe you should buy a honda? they are much easier on the wallet!
you dont want to know what new coils are going to cost. this car doesnt have traditional spark plug wires. you dont want to know what a "real quality" stress bar costs. you want a "muffler" why? want it to make more noise? get your change together and get a full exhaust (ebay $325 shipped). or prepare to spend in upwards of $500 for a REAL setup i.e. UUC (which sounds sick on a m52, had it on my e30 swap car). if you get a fart can muffler on there AND you have a automatic....need i say more? youre not going to get a subwoofer to sound decent in a vert. you dont have a m3, so why spend money on making it one? the front lip on the car can be fixed. the rear bumper needs to be resprayed and professionally mounted because the fitment is shiat. looking at your underhood pic, it appears you have a hid ballast hanging out. but are those standard housing headlights? you dont drive a civic, get some projectors!
the only power mod that should be done first is a intake manifold swap to OBD1 spec. and a set of s52 cams. pulleys and fan delete mods dont do squat sorry to say. youll be lucky to get a extra 2-5 hp and even then with it being a autotragic you cant tell the difference anyways.
maybe start by fixing your front plate, its hanging in all the pictures.
k im done ranting now. sorry to put you on blast.
s_ribs 11-07-2007, 12:38 PM :rofl Not everyone feels the urge to build a race car.....
Please do maintenance before other things though. It's not as much fun, but much more worth it at the end of the day. Go spend $50 on a Bentley manual and learn how to do it yourself Les, that'll save you tons of money.

Plugs have been changed along with oil, filter, powers tearing, o2 sensor, fan belt. Pulleys are making a bit of noise...might get new ones. Tomorrow I am having Les Schwab look at my tires, brakes (looks ok to me) and suspension.

I said the car needs some parts, the Ti runs fine!!! I just took it out to goto the store tonight. So cool your jets turbo this is not a flame forum.

This is a Convertible, why the hell would I take this too the mountain with 8 people, I cant put a cargo rack on it...thats why we have an explorer. This car is ment only to get me around town. Again cool your jets.

Thanks for assuming I am going to buy ebay shit, also who the F*** cares if I don't have "Projectors". Its not broken...why fix it! When I get around too it I will buy some angeleyes with the euro glass, but thats sometime later.

The current pulleys or belt are squeaking, first I am going to oil them if all fails I will replace them with OEM.

I was looking at the euro plate and forgot to put it back on!!!!
SO whats with this Russian thing, you guys raciest? I know some russians who drive some clean ass cars. This car is quite clean, just has a few boddy issues.

car has plenty of ebay shit on it already. and i F**king care when some moron with hids blinds the shit out of me because they dont have proper housings for their hids. angeleyes and euro glass wont fix it.
in your other thread you said you gave the TI to your dad with $500+ worth of work to be done on it. remember your other thread? the one asking where to get parts at?
and i doubt anyone here is racist. its just a common stereotype that most "eastern europeans" buy wrecked cars (mainly expensive euro cars) and fix them and add alot of ebay parts. and i dont need to cool anything. you are the one that goes and seeks everyone elses opinion on what to do with your OWN car. and who taught you how to spell? sure my sentence structure sucks arse but as least i can spell.

lol. That was hypocritical. You get all defensive when people recommend you do some basic maintenance. I think it would have been more mature of you to have not responded to that, especially with red font in the parts where you sound more ticked and black where you're calmer :shifty They're just recommending you do things..... especially when this thread was specifically raised for people to recommend you things to do to your car... and also, if you can't take a racist joke, you've got some serious insecurities.

Ok I will use blue insted of red :D
Ok first off I don't wish to piss you off smonkbmw, its just your so blunt in your opinions, it gives off allot of aggression.
Just a question, the placement of the hid housing determines the brightness?
When I get angel eyes I will either sell the hid's or move them over too the ti.
The $500 in parts is a suggested buy, the Ti could use some new parts to make the ride smother, it drives just fine at the moment.
The only ebay items I can find on the car atm is the strut bar, hids and front bumper, everything else seems to be legit, well maybe the rear bumper as well.
SO sorry about getting offensive in the last post, I just got off of my 3rd 10 hour work day, been kinda on edge.
mitchelrl 11-08-2007, 03:43 AM Who's being racist? You're the one who thinks Russians aren't of the same race as I.
Russians are from the Human Race, just as I am.
But whatever.
Go get your sweet M3 Mawdz! while your door panels will rattle apart and fall off and your soft top leaks. (if they don't already, they will soon)

smonkbmw 11-08-2007, 04:42 AM Just a question, the placement of the hid housing determines the brightness?
.
no the type of housing the light is in determines where the light goes. if you have the stock housings the light scatters everywhere including into oncoming traffic eyeballs. you get actual projectors the light is focused onto the ground where it belongs.
im not pissed at all. its just with your ti you always said you wanted a better car, now that you got one you want to get all this piddly appearence shit and not focus on whats important. but live and learn i guess.
NollieStylz 11-08-2007, 08:05 AM Right on, all this DIYing is gonna make for some good hands-on experience.
Congrats on the new ride, have fun with it!
s_ribs 11-08-2007, 02:04 PM Les... go buy a Bentley!!! Seriously. Buy one, do some work yourself. Spend a fraction of the money, get some good experience... (Jeff may even be impressed). ;)
I'll even give you a smokin deal on parts for you first DYI job. :D
Stealthyfish 11-08-2007, 04:50 PM Ok I will use blue insted of red :D

abbot555 11-08-2007, 10:41 PM I was looking thru your photo's, PLEASE tell me you have jack stands and are not doing all that work with your jack + stock jack !
3DGE95Ti 11-08-2007, 10:43 PM hehe, I did that to get the car up, I put wood under the tires, the car was about 6 inches up or so. I am building a small ramp that i can just drive up.

no clue, not sure why you would need some either. thats one of a few things leaking. CV boots, ps lines, oil pan gasket....might check your levels on stuff.

Good Times.
