Sorry to tell you but Best does not = cheapest.

IMHO Best are Koni Adjustables (also most expensive); second are Bilstein Sport and the rest are a matter of opinion.

Some here really like the value of KYB, while others hate them.

The important factor here is what springs you have installed as the springs and strut / shocks should be matched for the best characteristics.

Bilstein Sport being second is a matter of opinion as well. When I purchased my Sachs struts I was a little worried because I've always loved Bilstein. After installing the Sachs setup I've forgotten all about the Bilsteins.

It's ALL opinion. If you're going for the best mild-cost-range setup.... Bilsteins or Sachs both do wonders.

I was thinking of doing Vogtland springs over Bilsteins. Cost is cheeper and I realy like the idea having a highly progressive spring-rate

I have yet to find an aftermarket spring set that isn't progressive. (excluding coil over kits)

Hell, I'd try BMA, etc. for Boges.

I have Eibach springs with Bilstein Sports and I like the ride and it looks good. I got them from Bav Auto. (800th post!)

LOL, thanks guys, yeah, i don't want cheap shocks, just good shocks at the cheapest price. I'm using m5 front springs and oem wagon rears, and i'll probably use Bilstien touring, Boges, etc. I tried Ebay but all those sets are for sedans and when i inquire about a set for a wagon i get no response! Ohwell, i forgot about BMA, i'll check them out

thanks,

Jeff

Shox.com usually has competitive prices on Koni and Bilstien. Also check with BMA and even Bav Auto.
