Hi,
The inside of the speedo on my 04 Z4 is dusty and spotty, especially around the LCD display. I've removed the torx screw at the top and pulled the cluster out, tight fit but easy to get out. I see that the whole cluster seems to snap together (a few more torx screws on the back), but it would be easier if I unplugged it and worked on it outside the car.

Does anyone know if it's OK to unplug it? Will I mess it up if it's unplugged? Are there any tips or instructions to do this?

Thanks

You can unplug it, the data is stored in more then one place on your car. The only thing it will reset, is time and trip

You must to remove 4 T8 screws in the rear of the cluster. I did it and is too easy. Good luck!!
