Been using Meguiar's (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/thread/17932.aspx) products for years. My Z was last clay cleaned, polished and waxed with Meguiar's (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/thread/17932.aspx) deep crystal system early last month. Been using their Quick Detail following washes and have been pretty happy with the appearance. Ran out of the Quick Detail this week and decided to try Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detail. I was very surprised with how much deeper the shine is. I had been considering switching to the Zaino products (Z2 and Z8) based on the detailing threads on this forum, but I may reconsider. Not sure how this stuff lasts, but it produces the best shine I've seen to date on my car.

I would post a pic but not allowed to yet. Anyone here with similiar experience or advice to ad?

I have tried a lot of products, but I like Turtle Wax Ice the best.

I prefer Zaino myself. Easy to apply and long-lasting, with layering ability a decided plus. I've also used the Klasse twins in the past with great results, tho admittedly applied P21S over that and had some ghosting to put up with.

Bottom line--if there was one 'best' product out there, everyone would be using it. Clearly, with the multitude of products out there, personal preference comes into play along with how often you care to apply your treatment(s) and how hard you care to work.

Z4 dailydriver - been decades since I have used a turtle wax product. Maybe they are better now...

Treepusher - I agree that it's a function of how much effort you want to devote to cleaning you car. For me, my Z is a personal car - an extension of me, if you will. I admit, I dote on the car. When it looks great, I FEEL great. So, I want to use the product that makes the car look as fine as I can make it. I have read so many comments about Zaino on here that I have to believe it it leads all others and I will at least try it. I was just surpriseds by the Ultimate Quik Detail. The product produces a very noticeable difference, unlike other products I have used.

Anxious to try Zaino to see if it lives up to its reputation. Thanks to all for the feedback.

Caseysc1 - In my opinion, Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer is an attempt to make a product like Turtle Wax Ice. If you like the results of Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer, you may like Ice. In fact I used to use Mequiar's products like Hi-Tech Yellow Wax 26 and Quick Detailer, and I still use their Interior Quick Detailer, and I like to watch "Car Crazy", but I heard so many good things about Ice from a lot of people that I thought I would give it a try.

I was very skeptical at first, but it really gives a nice shine and is very simple to apply. I started with the Quick Detailer and then I tried the polish - paste and liquid - liquid is better. Applied it in multiple layers - multiple successive passes - it really creates a deep lasting shine. (Multiple passes builds up the coating thickness to give it that "depth" of shine.)

Can't speak for the group, but the consensus on the detailing forum was that TW Ice gave a great 'look' but lasted less than a month. Sealants such as Zaino or Klasse give upwards of six months of protection and deep gloss with one application, altho certainly they're more work to apply.

Z4 dailydriver - I'm sure turtle wax makes a fine product or they would not still be in business. No disrespect intended.

Treepusher - I'm all for more results with less work. My thinking is switch to Zaino over the Christmas holidays when I'm off and have the time to do the initial application of Z2 in a least three layers and then top it with Z8. Figured that would hold me through April then reapply for the summer. I would expectto follow weekly washings with Z8 to keep it looking as it does now...just longer.

Thanks again!

I use Pinnacle Souveran as a top coat over Autoglym. For touch ups I use Turtle wax Platinum detailer which I found to be streak free.

It cuts the application times by at least a third. Takes a multi-layer all day, or two day, job and makes it less than half a day. You will not regret the investment.

Even Zaino admits the Z8 is kind of over the top for maintenance use. I've had over five years' satisfaction with the Z6.

Good luck.

I admit I don't treat the wifes car like the Z... And used Quick a couple of times. Till I realized i was spending more time with quick stuff than good stuff.

Bottom line for me is that it's just wasted effort using either turtle Ice or Ultimate Quick.

I get a Great finish using NXT wax on the Z. I used it after spending WAY too much money on Zaino and Pinnacle souveren for results that were simply comperable initially and worse over time.

I use PC random with finish applicator and NXT and it goes on easy, comes off easy and glows for months.

The amount of time it takes to use a good product and an orbital versus the time it takes for a BS "quick" solution that last about as long as the life span of a mayfly, I won't bother with them again.
