Well heres the scenario, I launch. Car jerks a bit. start to move, car speeds up for a few seconds, RPM still raising, but car feels like it loses any throttle round 4500RPM and moves no where. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT comes on. I call miss fire but, I have changed out my plugs. Pretty angry with my beam. Anyone make sense of this??? Sorry just can't explain very well, kinda gota be there to understand lol.

The light tells all. There are HUNDREDS of items that can turn on the light, once you know which one it is, you can easily fix the problem.

I would guess either a cam position sensor or one or more bad ignition coils.

HMMM Thats funny, isn't your 325xi automatic??? Oh and my step mom has the same car, I have raced it and I beat it........Weird. But its true my car goes no where.

Yeah the cel goes away after a few starts ups which sucks cause I can't get to the Auto store sometimes. Going to have to set it off again and go to the autostore just to check it out.

CEL does not have to be on to read codes. As long as no one has reset the codes, they are stored in the system even if the check engine light has gone out. Go have them read.

Unless I'm mistaken, the code that triggers the CEL will get logged and can be read even if the CEL goes off. The code should stay there until someone clears it.

Correct. I have a pocket scanner and have read/cleared codes even without the CEL being on.

Congrats, you have one of the things, that brings fear to us all, hopefully it is just the oil rings on it, the other thing we hate to hear is head gasket, good luck
