palomino 11-01-2007, 08:23 PM interesting looking.
since it still mounts right behind the front seats, you still cant really have rear seat passengers. if no one can sit back there, id rather have the factory wind deflector because it covers the rear seats and keeps things from blowing around back there.

But that would really be nice for someone like me when I'm rollin' without my son in the car. As you can see, the "normal" wind deflector wouldn't work with my carseat in place. I suppose I could even cruise around with that style deflector AND my son back there, but I think that would be kind of mean to have that barrier between him & I. Plus, I bet it'd be even more of a windstorm back there for him.

juice2279 11-03-2007, 08:39 PM i just bought one and it's a must if you've got a vert and live in a city where the summers are short. i've been missing out all these years. i bought one custom made for $300 at www.lovethedrive.com (http://www.lovethedrive.com) ..they're located up here in Vancouver, Canada.
DucHuynh007 11-03-2007, 09:06 PM those work rims are hot. My buddy has the same set on an E46 M3 in 19s
Budget M3 11-03-2007, 10:24 PM These are an absolute must in cool climates...
I have an OEM windblocker that I purchased in Germany when I had my E36 vert. It is used (up to 100mph on the autobahn! :) ) It still looks great and still works just fine. Comes with the original canvas case, too, for storing in the trunk when not in use. PM me if anyone is interested...I'll make you a good deal...

I would really like to see some side profile pictures with this unit installed, I'm in Canada, SK so not having to pay duty or insane shipping charges is a plus, and they look like a quality product, I'm just not sure if I like the look of a windscreen, but I would like to leave the top down on highway traffic, does it really make a huge difference?

My best guess looking at the screw handle and the angle clasp....
Is it possible to rotate the clasp part, while the handle is loose, so that it ends up in a horizontal position with the wind blowing the screen back into the clasp? The clasp would hold it vertical preventing it from bending backwards.
I am assuming there is another one of these assemblies on the other side of the screen.
What do you think?

Post a few more pictures for reference, so we know what we're looking at.

I like everything about that deflector but the way the hooks at the back go under the conv top cover, it looks like it's sitting up because of the hook, it doesn't look flush.

Got to go out for a bit but I will post a few more up within 24hrs. The clasp bit on it does not seem to fit anywhere no matter what angle I put it. The pin part also does nto seem to go into the hole very far.
cheers for the help

koenigma 02-07-2008, 08:39 AM Cannot tell about the E30 as I cannot see the clips clearly enough, volvo , no I am sure it is BMW.
All I know is that I cannot get it to fit my e36, unless I am being a real DUH!
if we can find out what it is for someone can have a bargain if they want it.
Anyone own an E30 out there and know if that clasp bit has any purpose on the E30 fittings? on the E36 there is nowehere underneath or to the side of the pinhole for the clasp to grip.

Holy cow. That is possibly one of the top 5 best looking E36 Verts Ive ever seen. Is that a E46 M3 front bumper cover? And isnt your steering wheel on the wrong side?
libravcs 02-07-2008, 01:10 PM Upon further review, Im going to still have to deduct 10 points for "stretched" tires on an M3.

After scouring the net for a couple hours I couldn't find the fitting but I did see a picture on "www.ertlecars.com (http://www.ertlecars.com)" that looked a lot like your frame shape.
That mounting bracket has a very large pin that must fit in a hole that would be hard to hide. It makes me suspect a jeep or similar open SUV type of vehicle could be the "parent" for that thing.
I am amazed at how many different makes of these screens are actually out there. I feel bad that you have it but can't get it to work for you. I've got a few search fanatics in the office on the lookout for such a fitting.
Good luck!

Looks like it is going back to the seller, thanks for your efforts. The Pin is definately too big for the hole as it only does in about 1/3rd the depth of the hole.
never mind eh
cheers

We may never know the answer... But that's definitely not for a Jeep. Jeeps take their wind deflectors and simply strap them to the roll bar.
I'm still thinking E30, but have no way to confirm.
dogwalker 02-08-2008, 02:19 PM They are guessing an e21 model, Baur edition possibly
Talk is "How tall it is" and "A design for a modified body type"
Rare in the states but found in europe more easily.

Are you talking about mine or the VERY first screen seen in the thread, the VERY first one is onein the thread with that horny black vert below it is on an E36.
Please confirm who posted the picture you refer too. The guy is giving me my money back and I promised I woudl try to help him find out what it belongs too if I could.
