I tried to locate the coil for my friends car and everyone is telling me that it will take a month to get it in. I know there is a auto parts store here somewhere that sells foreign parts but cant remember the name of it. or does anyone have any other suggestions besides the dealer as to where I can get a coil.
Thanks

I'll bookmark them too.
Interesting. That car does use just one coil, but earlier 318s had the multiple coil packs. Seems like a step backward? :confused

i have one more question...build date....pre 12/93 or post 1/94?
there is a huge difference in price.
I would say post 1/94...it is one single coil not 4 ea individual coils.
I did call BMA although they were closed patrick did call me directly back he said he could have it here by Monday shipped express. But couldnt give me a price as the computers were messing up. Said to call him back tomorrow. I was hoping to find one to put in to see if that was the problem. I hate to have my friend spend almost $150 or so just to find out its not the coil..

My vendor's price is not that great on that part. Its $252 plus freight.

No points, no dizzy...it's run by the DME.
I'd test the coil, main relay, CPS and fuel pump.
Don't buy anything yet. Get someone with a code reader to pull the codes and then test.
What shape in the data plug? big round one under the hood, or trapezoid plug in the cabin?
