View Full Version : Rollin to REDLINE Time Attack Championships @ LS Coming to a Town near You!
93Coupe325is 11-01-2007, 09:54 AM :redspot Leaving Edmonds, WA at 3:00 AM.
Hitting Portland around 6:30 AM.
Grants Pass, Or around 10:45 AM.
Look for the Lightweight Clone 325is with Stuff all decaled up with sponsor stuff pulling a tire trailer stacked with Sh*t.:shifty
We'll be looking for all the signs you all put out given us props:lol
If you see us honk-wave-something:devillook
We have had some last minute knock the wind out of your sail stuff happen,- new tires got messed up in shipping but got here,-center driveshaft bearing crapped out,-hit a :madchuckhole and ** up one of our Advanced Design rear shocks. Ordered the bearing from Autohausaz, overnighted the shock tor rebuild overnight back from Ground Control thanks to some new sponsors coming on board.
Whew:eyecrazy I am a freakin wreck! Have not slept for 4 days (too excited to sleep) and worrying about the stuff happening.
But its all good now. Going through our tool list, spares list, pack list.
We are going to be up against some big a** horsepower cars.
But we will do our best to make the Northwest proud!
I don't care if you have 600+HP, they have not met the little 2.5L that thought it could yet. :rolleyes
But we have a fantastic handling car that is easily adjustable, and as good or better brakes then anyone.
Our driver:D:rolleyes;) is pretty good too.
See what happens. Been running over 200 laps per night on Forza Motorsport to get the lay of the track. Studied the World Challange races over and over too. Prepared as I can be. Going to be fun, good times, good times.
jayhudson 11-01-2007, 11:28 AM Here's some video to watch. 1st one is Shaun Coleman in an E36M3 IP car. 2nd one is Matt Bell in an E46 (325i?) DM car. His is an ex-TMS car. Very trick.

Good luck. Sorry I'll miss lunch. Wave when you go by TH. Or, drive out to the track and I'll give you a ride so you can see it. It's about 6 mis west of I-5. Takes less than 10mins to get there.

93Coupe325is 11-01-2007, 11:35 AM Might do that if we have time! That would be cool to check out!

mitchelrl 11-01-2007, 09:04 PM Gotta love it! Something has to be said about a race car that's being driven to the challenge, LOL.
Good Luck. I'm glad you got some sponsors man.

If you time it right you could have a session on track with me and only add an hour to your trip. Less if you only did a few laps. Total r/t between I-5 and TH is 20mins. Easy to find and free to get in. I could call you with the session schedule once I'm at the track Fri.
Think about it. Once you try it you'll be hooked :buttrock

93Coupe325is 11-02-2007, 09:29 AM Sounds so tempting Jay. But I won't have my race pads in, nor my Nitto's.
It's free? mmmm damn, might need to leave earlier..LOL.....have they got a website or something?

Thanks! Who would of thought huh? I never asked for help in my life. On a whim I ask racers.:eyecrazy Like asking a alcoholic for his last hit..LOL but they come through, little here little there.
Then my wife sees I am like a ways there and says "Rob the savings, I really want you to do this!" This woman HATED me doing this last May. Now she is my biggest fan. Then she calls a friend and asks them to help. And they do, and support me enough to push me over the top. My wife rocks:alright.
Laguna Seca! :redspot I am going to do what i always do:
Have fun
Do my best
Be happy with the results.
As served me well all season.

You may have misunderstood. I was talking about taking you out for a session in my car. So you could see the track. You wouldn't have to pay entry to the track. Just sign the waivers and go for a ride. That part would be free. Easy in, easy on your way.
If you were to drive..... different story.
Like I said, if you have an hour to spare and you'd like to ride along, let me know.

93Coupe325is 11-02-2007, 12:29 PM Duh (if I read slowly) I get it now. LOL. Let me talk to my brother and see what we think we want to do. We wanted to get to the motel as soon as we could and relax and sleep after almost a 15 hr drive. But maybe...thanks for the offer Jay. Will get back to you my friend..

<2 lbs total.
Hard drive video recorder... If you have a compact flash card, you can stick it in there and record to that (preferably), or you can use the 20gig internal drive.

The camera...

I don't mind sticking the camera outside the car since its only $50, not a big deal if it gets squished.
I had some problems with the hard drive recording while braking hard in the evo. Using solid state (CF) storage should solve that problem. Alternatively it just needs to be mounted better next time to use the hard drive.
It's a pretty simple setup, just give it 12v and set it to record.

Awesome. I have two 512 mb CompactFlash cards I have never used.(bought the wrong ones). Is that the right kind?
Where are you located?
How do you view it?

Yep, those will work, but I'm not sure how long it'll record for. I think you should be able to use the internal hard drive if you mount it securely (meaning more than the one zip tie like I used!).
I'm roommates with Mitchel, up in Kenmore. If you want to come over on Sat I can show you how to use it and you can test it out on the drive home.
You can view it on the recorder, hook up the recorder to your TV, or transfer the file to your PC via USB.
93Coupe325is 11-02-2007, 03:37 PM Awesome, but Saturday I am booked, sponsor stops for decals, pick up scales to corner weight my setup. Pm you number and I maybe able to come by on way back from woodinville saturday, if not Sunday?
