The look like 7-series wheels.

7 series wheels won't fit due to smaller center bore. BTW, car looks good.

Are you saying I should lose my NA-centric view of the world?

Regardless, I still haven't seen those wheels on a 'new BMW'. Or any BMW for that matter. This is the first one I've seen.

140+ MPH on R rated tires is not the greatest idea you ever had either. If you are going to drive like a nut at least get some Z rated rubber! :)

I always have to remind myself that my snows are R rated.

Come on..... let's take it one step further. R rated tires, 145 mph, snapping pics with a digital camera or a cell phone with no eyes on the road.

Those are the base E60 525i wheels starting in 2004 and ending whenever.

What's up with the Michigan plates?

The 'R' in his post stands for 'radial'. The Michelin Pilot Alpins are at least H-rated.

Isn't 225/55 R16 the correct size?

Well, 140+ mph on H-rated winter tires and snapping photos is still pretty bad. :)

I was just kidding. Heres a chart of speed ratings for fun.
http://www.kaltire.com/retail/about_your_tires/speedchart.php

note there is no R speed rating- R must be reserved for "radial" :)

very interesting pic. you have your car with the most base e60 wheels, and then you have a 528 in the background with the most base e39 wheels. both of which you hardly ever see. weird.

225/60? hmm.. too much rubber on the side there.

235/55/16 would match a 90s camaro.. still a bit too much.

dont like low profile?

Do E60 and E39s share the same hub size? I thought the E60 was smaller?

E60 wheels have the same bore as 7-series wheels as well, 72.6.

nah, they're the same.

Incorrect.

E39 = 74.1
E60 = 72.6

I don't care much for them myself. They look too much like something Ford would do on a Ranger.

Now each to his purse and tastes. There are people who have 19" or 20" (which I personally think are fugly, but I would not comment if asked). Also 16" if I recall are still factory size rims, so what's wrong with that?
I have a set of 18" for summer and a set of 16" for winter. The 18 are style 65 and the 16 are style 66 (the winters) and I like them very much and I don't care about other peoples opinion. If you don't have something nice to say, just keep it to yourself.

Nice car. I am not fond of your rims, but they do look OK on your car.

Agreed

..but I would not comment if asked.

Why not? If someone asks you for an opinion, why not be honest with them? Lying is much worse. Your true friends will see through that eventually.

Did someone say something was wrong with 16" wheels? I might have missed that.

I don't care about other peoples opinion. If you don't have something nice to say, just keep it to yourself.

If you don't care, telling someone to keep their opinion to themselves makes you sound a little conflicted on the subject.

And finally..... don't ask for opinions on the Internet unless you want them. That's all it boils down to.

That's a european model (the 525). Notice the european background (like the other 5 with steel wheels - probably a 520i)?

The picture is from europe... BMW doesn't sell 5's with steel rims here. Look at the truck and the house in the background also.

what are you talking about? both of those wheels are available in the US. Ive seen them a few times. this has nothing to do with europe. they are the non-premium package wheels, as base as you can get...
