HERE (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=240193) is a link for those of you who, like me, have been waiting for an alternative to the current Z4 M exhaust offerings.

Did you paint the rear valance black? The exhaust looks nice...can you have a normal conversation in the car when cruising around? Can you talk on the BlueTooth without drone killing your audio?

Thanks...looks great!

Another Question ..I assume this is all Stainless piping ?

-Not yet, it's just vinyl for now. A test.

-Absolutely! There is a bass resonance at exactly 4000rpm that intrudes a bit, but it's easy to drive around and can be talked over. I measured the maximum volume of my MC at 85dbA on a very rough road with my RA-1s (which are LOUD tires). Subjectively I'd call it a loud sport exhaust. It's not whimpy at all, and it's not obnoxous. It just sounds good. There is NO drone at highway cruising speeds.

Can you talk on the BlueTooth without drone killing your audio?
-I have no idea as I don't have BlueTooth. It may be an issue. But the volume and bass of the exhaust vary a lot by engine speed and throttle load. So one's driving style affects the volume even more than the exhaust components, IMO.

Another Question ..I assume this is all Stainless piping ?
-Of course. I wish I knew the gauge and code off the top of my head, but I don't. I will check with our man when I get back from SEMA.

Hey Mz3speed4me how does the Z4M compare to the Lotus?

I'm also interested in a MZ4 Coupe/Lotus Elise comparo. Both about the same quickness but using very different philosophies. I'm interested in both but can't decide.

straight line... not even close the M is def faster by a good amount.... added exhaust header and and intake to the lotus and it still gets pulled on by the MZ4....but on a track i dunno yet, but i would say the handling isnt as different as you may expect just from playing on some old country roads up north... i would have to give the bimmer the upper hand either way honestly speaking, i dont think the elise is as big a deal as many people make it up to be

-I haven't driven an Elise yet, but based on my track experiences I'd have to agree. Even stock the MC is a much faster car than the magazines would have you believe.

agreed.... i dont think they can drive, because somehow they run the ///M at like a 0-60 of 4.9 and 1/4 of 13.4 at like 103 in one mag... and another its 4.6 and 1/4 of 13.1 at 108 hmmmm so obviously something is wrong

my fav part is that they even claim a cayman S is faster... and i have inched away on 2 of them now

-The Cayman is at an even greater disadvantage on the track. Because it has no LSD, it can't put down power as well when loaded in a turn. As to the bad mag stats, I blame BMW. The Contis they chose suck ass - and they know it. They never wanted the MC to succeed because it would undermine M3 sales. And none of the new halo tech of BMW is in the machine (iDrive, SMG, keyless ignition, etc.), which of course is why I bought it.

I've driven the elise, Exige-S and I can say that the M Coupe is more capable than the elise, and about the same or better than the Exige-S.

I was considering trading the M Coupe for an Exige, however I didn't feel that the Exige (for the comfort, visibility, features) gave that much of an edge in comparison.

I have to say though that the elise would be a great second car, it is so much fun to drive. The M seems almost numb in comparison.
