This is the E34 M5 style flywheel isn't it?
right now they really only have E36 Based Pressure plates..

I'm sure the other clutchs will fit the 95 transmisions Input shaft.. that isn't the problem It's the Pressure Plate. I think the 95's pressure plate is different than the 96-99.

I'm definitely in on this GB, I can't decide which clutch I should get though. The motor is a built S52 estimated whp is probably 280, it will be street driven so it only needs to be a HD series pressure plate. Do you think I should go with a Ralley, TZ, or OFE. I really don't want something that will glaze over like SPEC clutches are known to do. Anyone have any experience with Southbend clutches?

Another thing is that I will be installing the clutch with a new Fidanza flywheel, anything I should know about installation that would be different than a stock S52 flywheel?

I would Use Either the TZ Stage 2 Trq. Capacity of 325 ($344 Shipped) Or the Rally Stage 1 Trq. Capacity of 300 ($301 shipped)

Nothing would be very different with using a Ltw Flywheel other than a stock on, But you do need to note that you are using a single mass flywheel so we send you a spung hub clutch..

Also : These are far better than SPEC clutches These are Hand Made here in the U.S.A not in china... I've used these clutches on other cars with no problems...

Well What Flywheel do you have on the Car? I assume It is a M50 based motor?

With that said..

You should Probably switch to a M3 flywheel so you can have a larger surface area for your clutch...

I would use the OFE Stage 5 Good for 525 Torque. ($514 shipped)

Or if you think you will make more than 525 Tq.
You could use the FE Stage 6 Good for 660 Torque ($578 shipped)

Great timing. I've in the market for a new clutch kit. What would you recommend for 97 M3 with TT Stage 2 turbo kit? I'm thinking their FE Series
Stage 6 would be fine for me. I current have the UUC UltraSmooth with their UUC LTW flywheel. I will be going back to OEM Dualmass flywheel hence why I will be replacing my clutch kit.

Everytime I try press "add to cart" it trys to login to Paypal??? Is that what it's suppose to do?

It will be $322 shipped...

I recomended these clutches that are rated slightly higher because People with Fi applications usually Race their cars.. Either on the Street :( or @ the track..

These clutchs are built using Sacs componets :) They remake the clutch disks with better linings.. And the pressure plates are re-sprung for more clampload. (this is what every other clutch manufacturer does but will not tell you)

I will recomend the Rally Series"stage 1) clutch for you.. $259 shipped
But if you are going to add nitrous before you change your clutch again, I would go for the TZ series clutch "stage 2" $344 shipped

Yes the flywheel is drilled to fit a e36. The clutch disk can fit an E36. But the pressure plate Is for a E34 M5. Southbend does not carry a E34 M5 pressure plate.. It maybe special order.. I have asked and they are looking into it.. but your best bet is to swtich back to a E36 M3 flywheel...

Clutch kits are based on the torque capacity so if you have a S/C the Stage 3 should be more than enough..

how many miles could you get out of your clutch....I know it depends on how you drive your car...drags, auto-x, tracking etc...

If it's made to do all these things...how many miles...

example.. my stock clutch is going on....35k-40k miles.....I have no issues...

I drag and track my car....

Can you post some information on who this company is? Why these clutches are a good deal? And are these clutch kits really popular in certain markets (like LS1, or Supra, etc). Just something to convince us that they aren't junk.

There clutches look pretty nice, but the website is a little unprofessional. A clutch is something you don't want to fail prematurely. I have a hard time trusting a company I've never heard of.

Well They are a 3 generation company. They have done millions of clutches for High Hp and Torque diesel trucks, and tractor pull clutches they also make 1000's of industrial clutches. Then the started building "import" clutches..

Everyone who I know that have used these clutches, have been very satisfied. They have held high horsepower and torque for me on different supra setups i've owned in the past.. I used a custom setup from them for my Pro-Turbo 4 Drag Honda, no problems out of one clutch for an entire season :)

They Use OE SACS Pressure plates and clutch disks.. They just re-line the clutch disks with better friction material, and the Pressure plates are resprung for a Higher clamp load..

There area a few other Members here on BF.c that have used thier clutches with no problems what so ever...

I have a 95 M3 that puts out about 225 RWHP. The car is only street driven to and from auto-x and track events and that may change in the near future to a track/auto-x only car. I plan on upgrading to a Stage I SC kit next which will give approx 300 RWHP. Which clutch would you recommend for this type of driving and HP. I would prefer a clutch that I can be very hard on at the race track without having to worry about destroying it. Also, I am installing a JB Racing LTW

hi jordan,

i have yet to receive my clutch, although more than 10 days have passed since you said the article was sent.

also, i've checked the usps website and it seems they do provide tracking for international shipping. could you check with your southbend contact to find out what's going on? i've emailed them but got no reply.

thanks

I've put 600 miles on my clutch and I absolutely LOVE it! Even though I only went with a Stage 1 I'm really happy with the pedal feel. I'm a newb but it does feel like there's more clamping force but thats probably just in my head.

One time I order some car parts, it ended up that the products were being shipped from Canada. Once the package was handed off to USPS I was no longer able to track the package. After a few weeks and no product ended up calling the vender and I canceled the transaction. About a month later, I get a package and it turns out to be the parts I ordered.

no jordan, in fact, the clutch didn't ship out the day after i paid, like you told me.

according to the usps website, it was shipped out on the 10th of december, one full month after payment, so i've no idea how you managed to get hold of that particular receipt/tracking number that u sent me.

i had to cancel my attendance at a track day meet because of the missing clutch. not pleased at all.

Not sure what you mean.. Maybe that is when it left the States.. I know the tracking Number I gave you was correct.. But Shipping overseas is always tough especially when your countries customs are very strict.. But I am sorry the shipping was less than satisfactory.. You should take it up with USPS.. We did all that we could..

Jordan,

amazingly arrogant reply there. here's my response:

1) i've finally received my clutch.
2) the tracking number you provided was just plain wrong as the clutch hadn't even been sent out at that point in time.
3) i have email correspondence with Jon from Southbend stating that the clutch was not sent out on the date you said it was due to delay in getting hold of some of the parts needed.

i can and will post that email here for all to see if need be, with Jon's permission of course.

i've received my clutch and that's the most important bit. i have no quarrel with either USPS or Southbend, Jon was pretty honest in admitting the late shipment and the reason for it. If anyone wants a southbend clutch, i would recommend just dealing direct with them.

pictures speak louder than words though. pay close notice to the box labeled "date accepted" and the tracking number located on the bottom right of the picture. feel free to enter that tracking number and see for yourself.

Jordan,
Will you be running this special again for a stg3 shipped for $361 thats a huge difference vs. $475

Actually it'll be $361 shipped with the 15% discount ;)

Clutch kits are based on the torque capacity so if you have a S/C the Stage 3 should be more than enough..
