Corvette, hands down. It's torque-ier, more aerodynamic, and has a much higher top speed from the factory, though a chip could change that. The handling is about equal, though the M6 could do with stronger brakes since it's got a lot more bulk to stop.

The biggest problem is certainly the weight though. At 4000 lbs. the M6 is a big fat porker next to the Corvette's 3300 lbs. The M6 is a luxury-ladened GT car, there's no point in pretending that it can keep up with super-coupes like the Z-06, even with a bit of help.

Another crippling point is price: An M6 tuned to run with a Z-06 would cost around twice as much. In fact, it'd probably be closing on Ford GT-money. In either situation the Bimmer doesn't look very appealing.

It doesn't have to be a Z06, Even a Stock 2008 Corvette will be faster then the M6.

Wow lots of bad info there. Only thing you got right is that a Zo6 is a sports car and M6 is a GT. Exhaust and chip would level the playing feild, thats 4k in parts. The fact that people compare the M6 to Z06's, Lambo's, 996's and 911's shows how impressive the M6 is. Its a 4 seat GT that is on par with some of the finest sports cars under 300k. The cabin and comfort of the Z06 isnt even close to the M6. you also say the handling is close...... Z06 will out handle the M6 any day, the Z06 was 10 sec faster then the M6 on the ring.

The Honda driver is the guy in the post above the one you quoted. Best to let the facts speak for themselves and take the high road.

I don't understand why people feel the need to compare a Grand Touring car with a Z06 anyway.

I'd own either car happily though I'm pretty sure I'd love them differently...

how can those 2 in-car perspectives be the same run? I viewed both videos and they both indicate the opposite car is to the right (viewing from passenger window) They must have done it twice

If I wanted a teenager redneck car I would have bought one.Let's not play the stereotype game. I've seen more used E63s on rent-to-own chrome 22s than teenage rednecks in brand-new Corvettes.

Ok guys... Some like Vettes and some like 6 Series, let's just leave it at that.
