My friend has lost her dog in the Mansfield area (HWY 287 & Debbie Lane/Cooper area). The dog is a daschund mix, she is about 20lbs and responds to her name Lucy. She has a green collar on maybe with or without a leash. If anyone has seen her please call 871 234 9143 or 832 264 0399.

Thank you

VERY sorry to hear this :( I lost two of mine last year and it's heartbreaking while it's happening - I got both of mine back home about a week later though. A few helpful tips:

Check with neighbors to see if they have seen her anywhere recently

Put up signs EVERYWHERE - brightly colored signs with large wording (so they can be seen from a car) and a COLOR picture of the dog

Offer a reward for safe return (even if it's only $25, people are more apt to pay attention if they know there's a reward)

Go to the pound in Mansfield, Arlington and Grand Prairie every day - GP is the only city to update their pound online with pictures which is AWESOME. The other cities will not release info on types of dogs brought in over the phone and you must go in and check. Arlington has a recording of all dogs brought in over the course of the previous day that helps, but it's always best to physically look for yourself.

The most important thing is to NOT give up! We ended up "catching" one of our dogs after a woman called to say she saw her running through a field - she had been out for a week at that point and was at the point of being crazy. She didn't recognize me when she saw me and ran... I chased her for almost a mile yelling her name and all her nicknames to trigger in her little head that it was me and it finally clicked. My other dog that was out with her was picked up by animal control after someone called them to get her and the animal control agent who got her actually called me, saying he knew she was ours because of the good posters they had seen up and got her home safely that day.

Best of luck to your friend and I'll keep an eye out since I'm in the same area :)

dogs do some very interesting things. When i lost my dog she ran five houses down realized she was lost, got scared and shat all over the place. she then rolled in her own shit and sat on someone porch. a couple of hours later that person was walking my dog down the street covered in shit asking everyone whos dog it was.

I hope the person finds there dog.
