:buttrockSo I'm gunna be installing a set of ZKW projectors W/ Apexcore race HID 5k & titanium 8k color halos in my 99 M3, My friend had some cheap halos installed and the installer run power to the halos from the power under the hood ( the power box thing where you would jump start a car ) THIS CAUSED A SMOKING MESS!! :help the wire started smoking and melted the jacketing as soon as the car was started. Does anyone know where is the besdt place to pull power from for the halos & HIDs? Do you have to run a power wire from the battry in the trunk. Since i am hooking up HIDs and halos and most likly HIDs in the fogs also, I want to make sure they are not under powered and def not start any fires! PLEASE HELP!!

Tap into the power from the corner lights for the AE's. Hooking them up to the engine will absolutely toast them, as you quickly found out.

watch which you tap into for the corners (which is correct) though cause you might end up with blinking AEs

THANK! So its not nessesary to run any power straigt from the battry? Even for the HIDs, or just use power from the corners for the AE's not the HIDs?

Hopefully you got an install manual for the hid's, but if not, there are some DIY's around to take a look at. You will use the lines coming from the harness that hooked into your stock lights for the hid's, you'll need to splice into them if your kit isn't plug-and-play. Pictures help too, but I'd recommend searching for the appropriate DIY thread.
