Hi,
I bought a set of Hella facelift Angel Eyes lights for my E39 last spring. Back then I already noticed that I am unable to get the light pattern to produce anykind of "cutoff" or a slanted light pattern to the right side of the beam, even though I believe the pattern should be like that originally in those lights.
Yesterday evening I converted into Xenon (HID) with an aftermarket kit, and everything went just fine. However, I again noticed that I have a FLAT output from the lights, without the slanted light pattern. I was told that the angel eye facelift light housings have somekind of metal bracket that you can switch from one side to other, depending on if you had LH or RH traffic. So that the slanted pattern displays on the side of the road where there is no traffic against you. Ie. on the right hand side for most of the world.
Is it possible that in my angel eyes set that bracket is somehow misplaced on both light housings, or is there somekind of mechanism where you select the side LEFT or RIGHT in the housing itself? Is it possible that this lever or selection has been accidentally left in a "neutral" or "middle" position, thus not creating the proper light pattern on either side. Just a flat line, that's also very hard to "calibrate" or "aim" (whatever the word for this is).
The light pattern on my halogens (same housing) was like this just recently. And the xenons look about the same (although much much brighter):

Does that look right for EURO spec Hella facelift angel eyes ?
Thanks!!
cheers,
