View Full Version : Perfect 2001 750iL for sale
gspdave45 10-25-2007, 06:41 PM Greetings,
This car has been in our stable less than 2 months. Its perfect in every way, except that its not Imola Red, which is what the wife wanted. So, having found an Imola Red sport 740i, we have agreed to part with this car.
Not much to tell, it has about 40K miles, and has no issues. Paint is near perfect, tires new, its just immaculate. List price in 2001 was $98k, we are asking $29,900 OBO. Glass has been tinted. Oh, and it has a 4 year bumper to bumper EZ Care transferrable warranty.

Is that black or green ... I can't tell.
Stunning car man! I wish I could get those rims for snow tires. No one seems to have a used set for sale so I'm settling for basketweaves.
Swordsman 10-27-2007, 11:53 AM I remember when you bought that car! Sad to say, but be prepared to take a hit on the sale. I think the car is awesome and it does have low miles, but you paid top dollar for it. It will be an amazing stroke of luck if you can find a buyer at that price, sad to say.

It is green, dark green metallic.

First, thanks for the.....? Second, nowhere does it say "firm". Third, if necessary, I can sit on it all I want, the money isn't an issue. Fourth, I have three serious leads already.:cool
andyk740il 10-28-2007, 12:52 AM The car is sharp. Hope it finds a good home. German cars and german dogs are the only way to go.
rmercer53 10-28-2007, 12:53 AM gpsdave,
I'm new here and on the market for 2001 740iL. Your 750 is beautiful from what I've seen out there. I'm looking for a red one too though your greenie is very tempting. How much longer is it bumper to bumper than your new 740i?

Hey man,
Not sure exactly, the iL is either 6 or 8 inches longer than the i. You really do notice the difference in the back seat :cool.
rmercer53 10-28-2007, 12:09 PM Yeah, I've seen the difference between the 740i and 740iL. I really like the longer wheel base. I was wondering if the 750 adds even more length. I'll look it up on wikipedia. Thanks and good luck with you 750. I'm sure it will sell fast.

The 750iL is no longer than a 740iL:)
gspdave45 10-29-2007, 12:39 PM The 750iL is no longer than a 740iL:)
That's correct. The "iL" in both models is longer than the "i". So its probably 8 inches longer than the new 740i.
gspdave45 11-01-2007, 12:24 PM ...to $29,900 OBO.

Thanks. Got em at Eurotech (ebay) for a great price. Thinking about going with the Hamann replicas next spring; still a lil undecided, tho.

ucbearcats27 11-28-2007, 02:18 AM That is one beautiful car...
is that wood steering wheel heated? If so I'm going to need to find one of those.

Thanks man! No, the steering wheel and airbag/wheel hub and controls are seperate parts, the rosewood wheel apparently cannot be heated. Thus, that button is inop when switching out to the rosewood wheel.
Swordsman 11-29-2007, 02:24 PM I always thought that was the case, though I remember taking a lot of abuse for saying so when you bought the car originally.
I would rather have been wrong. That wheel is SHWEEEET but I can't part with my heated wheel, since I drive in the winter.

It is a gorgeous wheel, rosewood is super smooth and dare I say - sexxxy. I drive my 740 in the winter (when there's no snow on the road) and while its nice to have I also wear gloves so usually I don't even use the heat function.
ucbearcats27 11-30-2007, 01:40 AM Call me crazy, but I might have to buy a wood wheel and use it in the summer/spring and swap it for the heated in the winter.
hmmm....

gspdave45 11-30-2007, 12:02 PM Hey man! Yeah, that was great fun, and you know how clean that car is. Wife is driving her Imola Red now so the Green Beast is on the block.
You guys have the sweetest rides! We'll have to do that again early in the spring.

Yes, we got the Imola. The weather has been horrible so no pics really of her yet. When the weather breaks I'll take some glamour shots.
Did you want details on the Imola or on the 750 that is the subject of this thread?
