1998 BMW 318ti (GREEN) 167,000 highway miles, gets great gas mileage, Standard (5 Speed - NOT AUTOMATIC), Cold A/C,Premiun Package, gray leather interior, sunroof, CD player, excellent condition, drives like new and looks very sporty, clean title, no accidents, extra clean, 16" BMW rims, $4,500 price is negotiable, serious buyers only

i think since the miles are that high i shouldnt pay that much

There is no way that I would pay that much for that car.

$3200 at most.

By all means, try to talk him down. But keep in mind that Ti's tend to hold their value better than other e36's because it's a cliche car. Blue book means nothing when you're looking at a car that is hard to find. If it's in good shape it might be worth it, but you could probably get him to knock 500 bucks off of it. Any Ti that you find is probably going to have high mileage (over 130k) because they stopped making them so long ago and people love to drive them.
