Is there anything specific I have to do in installing this kit so that I will not throw any codes?
Should I get 9005s or 9006s?

View Full Version : Ebay HIDs on my e36 94530inh 10-25-2007, 12:27 PM Is there anything specific I have to do in installing this kit so that I will not throw any codes? Should I get 9005s or 9006s? CrazyCoder 10-25-2007, 02:42 PM Is there anything specific I have to do in installing this kit so that I will not throw any codes? Yep, the only way it won't throw codes is if you don't install it. I mean, seriously, $19.95? :nono Ok, to be honest, $79.95 after $55 shipping. It has a 1-year warrenty, but you pay shipping. Wanna bet that after it breaks the shipping is, again, $55? Thats probably the total cost of the unit plus shipping! The manufacturer didn't even put their name on the ballasts, that says a lot about their quality. 94530inh 10-25-2007, 05:07 PM Lots of the E34 guys are raving about this kit. Again, I dont care about quality, only fitment. Can anyone help me figure out what to order. 94530inh 10-25-2007, 05:08 PM PS Volusia County sucks. BMWALDO 10-25-2007, 05:47 PM Save yourself the trouble of Ebay HIDs and buy this Kit from Habbie: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=787412 At least you will have the piece of mind of purchasing from a vendor and know that you'll have customer service. xsperf 10-25-2007, 10:42 PM you will never really get any help from anyone here if you want to purchase a kit from ebay, but either way, since that kit draws 3.5 amps vs the stock 6 amps, yes it will throw a low beam failure(thats on an e36, not sure if e34 has the same check module) Jwright 10-26-2007, 12:33 AM Not worth it....like others said, go through a supporting vendor on here. Check the group buy section, there are some HID kits for sale there. L3000C 10-26-2007, 01:25 AM "Each bulb must pass a 200 hour endurance test, earthquake test," LOLOLOLLLOLOL!! wtf is a "earthquake test?" The-Great-328ic 10-26-2007, 01:40 AM good luck with an Ebay kit robisconfusedd 10-26-2007, 02:58 AM my friends and i have actually had really good results with ebay HID kits... i would go for it personally... IMO it's the same quality, the only difference is if it breaks, you have no one to go to. LBMotoring 10-26-2007, 03:27 AM "Each bulb must pass a 200 hour endurance test, earthquake test," LOLOLOLLLOLOL!! wtf is a "earthquake test?" obviously its a vibration test.... Lets use that word in a sentence. You car vibrates as it travels over uneven surfaces. CrazyCoder 10-26-2007, 11:24 AM PS Volusia County sucks. What the hell, man? :confused Thats pretty darned childish, totally off topic and not really called for. You asked for opinions, you got one, no need to go off and start insulting where I live. jijacob 10-26-2007, 03:48 PM I have those HIDs and they work fine... and it does not throw any codes on my e36. DJ Genius 10-26-2007, 04:47 PM If it does throw a code there is a small ballast to buy, I think it's called "Warning canceller" or something, it cost $20 and removes the the code. Forged328 10-26-2007, 05:50 PM PS Volusia County sucks. Nice, douche. fragzem 10-26-2007, 06:22 PM blah blah blah I bought an excellent kit from this guy, use it in my fogs in my 540. Had them for 3 months no issues whatsoever. 96.60 incl. shipping any color any bulb comes with actual BRACKETS rather than double sided tape on the ballasts, too Shipping China --> NYC in 2 days!!! he also has a lot better choices in colors. throws no codes on my 97 540. robisconfusedd 10-26-2007, 08:22 PM see this thread >> http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=856322 habbie 10-26-2007, 09:14 PM for every success ebay story there are about 50 horror stories, not very many people will admit in the open that they made a mistake, we deal with this type of situation every day. its always cheaper to do it right the first time however some have to learn the hard way just to save a few bucks. m3mobbin 10-27-2007, 12:37 AM My cheap ebay bulbs actually have lasted a really long time, they were nearly 4 for the price of one Prolumen bulb and I've been running them for nearly a year now with no problems. I would definitely recommend them as a much cheaper alternative and they are warranteed too. They are the same as these: These are the 4.3K I got for my GF's car, I was going for an OEM look on her car: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/M3mobbin/328ci%20photoshoot/15.jpg 94530inh 10-27-2007, 02:38 PM What the hell, man? :confused Thats pretty darned childish, totally off topic and not really called for. I figured you would catch that because when I'm on forums I usually put Daytona Beach/NH but i guess I didnt on this forum. I went to ERAU for a few years. Ormond Beach is nice, but Daytona kind of sucks. CrazyCoder 10-27-2007, 10:17 PM Sorry man. I was being playful. I used to live in Daytona Beach. I figured you would catch that because when I'm on forums I usually put Daytona Beach/NH but i guess I didnt on this forum. I went to ERAU for a few years. Ormond Beach is nice, but Daytona kind of sucks. Actually the whole area kinda sucks. :lol Ormond is about as good as it gets. Used to live in Holly Hill, oye, talk about a hole! zx7rhitch 10-28-2007, 12:56 AM If it does throw a code there is a small ballast to buy, I think it's called "Warning canceller" or something, it cost $20 and removes the the code. Resistor or ballast ? Ive just never heard of the LBF ballast fix |
