View Full Version : Test Drovc Z4M tonight
blkbmw92 10-25-2007, 04:17 AM well i test drove a 07 Z4M tonight, i love the way it drove, handled etc. This one is fully loaded with every option but the things that bothers me is the plastic woodgrain trim. anyway im really considering it and they gave me in writing a final cost of $60,600 with tax and everything included. the car has 69 miles on it . is this a good deal?
apan14 10-25-2007, 04:39 AM read other threads - lot of people are saying you can get z4m at big discounts.
HBspeed 10-25-2007, 05:12 AM you should be able to get about 10k less for a coupe and 8k less for a roadster than that price.
Treepusher 10-25-2007, 07:38 AM It's not plastic, and you can get the price down a fair amount.

Ford and Chevy make their plastic look like wood, BMW and Rolls Royce make their wood look like plastic. Rolls Royce uses old growth wood you can't get anymore (Some companies are mining it from the bottom of lakes and rivers sunken for hundreds of years, BMW uses regular wood with nice grains. Although they do use veneer I think which helps with warping and durability over time. Oh, and yes that's too much money for the car, shop around.
Frustrat1on 10-25-2007, 01:23 PM My salesman called me...
They have 6 coupes and he said "give me back yours and give me 9k" and I'll hand you the keys to an M. That's an M for 12k+ less than your price.
I am so tipping on the edge... The problem is the Si Coupe is fikin sweet and VERY satisfying to drive. I just don't know if I'll get the extra enjoyment out of the Logo and a few Horses I'll virtually never miss.
You can hit Ebay right now and get under 50k for an M and ship it...
Kev50027 10-25-2007, 02:05 PM I agree with you on the wood grain, BMW could make it look better, but if you don't mind, the silver metal interior is actually quite nice, and looks and feels high quality.
Also, there is a black Z4M at my local dealership that is loaded that they are trying to get rid of, and they had it online for about 60, but they were ready to sell it to me for 55 or less. I turned them down and got an '05 Z4 3.0 with every possible option for far less.
Treepusher 10-25-2007, 02:34 PM FWIW, I found the ride quality better in the non-M version. More civilized as a daily driver. The M Coupe was a blast to drive, but I didn't think I could live with being jarred around like that on a day in and day out basis.
Also, given the speed limits on the roads around here, had no real use for the larger engine. Nice to have horses, but a few less don't drink so much at the pump!

Good point. I think if you really want a car that's that fast, I'd go with a used M3.
Ianbiz 10-25-2007, 05:07 PM You can buy a Z4MC for about 8k off MSRP.
PDo91203 10-25-2007, 05:48 PM I think the M Roadster/Coupe can match the M3 - in the right hands, all bets are off... But yeah, shop around if possible. Others are getting better deals.

That's what I paid and I was one of the first to own one (August 2007). You have to be able to get a better deal now...

I've got a deal in the works for a Z4M coupe, premium, nav and heated seats @ $46,000 plus tax and reg. MSRP was $57,500. Out the door is $48,935 with sales tax and reg.
