I really hate the fact u have to pull twice on door handle to get out of the car. Is there any way to leave the doors unlocked at all times while driving ? The door handle just snapped off and now i have to lower my window to open the door from outside.
Is this common on e39s ? I have a '98 528i btw.

Why not just unlock the doors with the central locking button? And yes you can have that option programmed at the dealer. If I unlock my doors, they stay unlocked until I manually lock them.

I'd like my doors to lock when I put it in drive. I don't like it the other way. I guess its coz I drive with the window down often and have my arm resting there.. right on that damn lock button, so I'd prefer it already be down than hitting me in the funny bone and being not-so-funny.. lol

I've heard of it happening, but I don't think it's common...

You can have your general control module coded so that the doors stay unlocked until you press the lock button. This is the way my car is setup...

Anyone parting a car that can help a brotha out with a door handle?

well, the dealer CAN do it for you, its just a matter of laziness. That is, if you're more willing to get off your ass and get it done and pay for it, before I do..

I don't think either one of us will have that fixed..
