Well, I finally put the nail in the coffin. Looks like I'm going to need a new clutch for the E46 330xi. :( Getting some real nice slip up in 5th and it's moderately noticeable across the range. Anyone on here done a clutch replacement before or know of a decent place that I should take it to? I love the DIY work but I have a feeling that even my Bentley guide might not get me through this one especially since it's my daily and I need the car.
So far, mileoneparts.com has had the best price on an OEM replacement I've seen at $270.

Bavarian Performance Group in Stoneham does good work. 781-279-4444 is their number. Talk to John or Dan.

I did a clutch on Tom's car, it took about 8 hours, but there is a good amount more work to get the transfer case and front driveshaft out.

Once it starts to slip like that in gear, you have very little time before it's slipping a lot in every gear. On my E36 it barely lasted another 50 miles.. Good luck!
I don't know anything too close to boston, but near me Dynatune is great for bimmers; most of the people that work at bavauto take theirs to them, and the portsmouth manager was at the show & shine.

Great guys over there.

ugh. I was hoping it was going to last a bit longer. If I really slam the gas in 5th, I see the revs go up a bit before settling back down... Good to know, though and thanks to everyone for the suggestions so far. If anything else comes to mind, keep me posted.
