Does anyone have a source for any urethane mounts for the (e34) m30 engine and 5-sp tranny? Need to ditch the rubber ones for an upgrade. Dont want to use hockey pucks if I dont have to.

Thanks in advance

Ireland Engineering probably has them. They may not be on the website, though.

My engine will be out again and I need to replace them.

I meant why would you want urethane ones over...whatever else?

Better than rubber and will last longer.

Moroza-

Urethane engine mounts prevent engine motion, as rubber allows the engine to shift in place when you rev it. Try it sometime, open your hood, and rev the engine. You will see it "twitch" in place. Urethane motor mounts prevent this, but it transfers more vibration to the frame of the car.

A lot of turbo guys use them because the stock rubber mounts aren't strong enough to stop the "twitch", as it is proportional to the torque an engine makes. If the mounts aren't good enough, the engine can twist the transmission, so when you think you are going into third, you are actually going into first. This is called a Moneyshift, as it overrevs the engine, costing you a lot of cash to fix.
