The other day, when I was under my car trying to replace my O2 sensor, I noticed that my UUC tranny mounts with the Tranny Mount enforcers had pretty much disintegrated and require immediate replacement. At the same time, I also took a look at my Ireland Engineering motor mounts (which were only installed maybe 3 years ago or so) and they showed evidence of significant cracking, although they had not disintegrated as the tranny mounts had. I was surprised to see that much wear on the motor mounts considering they had not been in the car that long and the car has only seen auto-x duty (maybe 2 times a month) and 3 DEs.

As luck would have it, I have a brand new set of UUC motor mounts and tranny mounts w/TMEs (which I got for free). Replacing the motor mounts with the UUC ones seems like a no brainer, however, I have concerns about putting the same type of tranny mounts w/TMEs back into my car. So from both a performance and durability standpoint, should I go with the red tranny mounts (UUC option 2, street cars that see heavy track use), the red race tranny mounts (UUC option 3, dedicated track cars) or just throw the base tranny mounts w/TMEs (UUC option 1)? NVH is not a concern for me. Even though the car is still street legal (barely) it does not see any significant time on the road.

I am leaning more towards the race ones since my car will be seeing more track duty (and power) in the future. They are only $10 more than the non-race red tranny mounts ($45 vs. $35). But I wanted to know if there is anything about the race ones that I should know, especially in the durability area.

Disintegrated? Were they the older red ones?

All UUC transmission mounts are covered by a lifetime warranty no matter when you bought them. Please call us ASAP, happy to replace them for you with whatever style you prefer.

You're on the right track, yes. Go with the UUC Race trans mounts, the cost increase is insignificant, and you will have the best protection without having to go to a solid metal mount (which can be a bit too much stiffness).

No. They were the ones that are just like "Option 1" on your website, the black rubber ones with the aluminum cups. I don't have access to my car during the week, but I can post pictures this weekend to show you what I am talking about.

Match the UUC race mounts to your new UUC motor mounts. That's what I'm using. Looks like Rob will take care of you.

+1.

Same thing happened to me. Rob took care of me right away. Apparently the older bushings were neoprene??? or something like that. Regardless, I had a new set shipped to me same day.
