With the HPF kit out at $16k, I wanted to see what everyones thoughts would be a reasonable price for a kit such as HPF's?? I know a lot of money goes into R&D but why are their kits so much more expensive than lets say an AA Super Charger kit? I am not wanting to sart a bashing contest just opinions from people as to what they would pay for a good Turbo kit. TIA:buttrock

Yes. It's expensive. Have you SEEN all that they've done to make this product what it is?
Sorry if that sounds too irritable, lol, but they've gone above and beyond with the details on this system.

i think you are seeing what the market is paying for a quality kit. HPF doesn't set the price, the market does. what i have heard, HPF has ppl lined up. also, is it just me or do others remember when AA was selling their turbo set up for an E36 for 20k and not many bitched. this kit is twice as nice if not 10x. imo

Just seems that with the price of the E46 coming down that more people are going to pick them up. I think a kit that would be priced around the $10k mark would sell like crazy!!
