i love my max......it is a great car. Only bad thing is the chassis sucks and when you drop it, no matter what you use it rides real harsh. If she want to upgrade go with the 02+ modles. Bigger motor, very quick, and good improvment over the older models.

I guess you could fill it with ice for a cooler, might not do so well next to the exhaust, If it were bigger my train horn compressor would be in there.:evil2

Lol, but yours is lighter. Not a fan of the vq35 models, even the newer ones. I've heard wonders with just the MEVI, Y pipe, b pipe and muffler.

There is a compartment in your trunk that hold tools to change tires and that. I also store some jumper cables, just incase

texas doesn't have much winter :alright and i always park in a place i can roll, though not intentionally, my driveway is on a slope and i always back in, and at work the parking lot is slightly sloped... plus, if you can push it backwards or forwards, you can push start it, if you do it backwards you just use reverse instead of first :redspot

So, what actually goes in that compartment from the factory? I've seen some photos of engine compartments with something in there, but I couldn't tell what it was.

abs controller??? I store a fresh bottle of scotch, If I need to open the hood for anything its ussually followed by a wallet numbing couple of pulls from the bottle...makes the spending less painfull

OIL and Power Steering (ATF) fluid..... Hopefully fixing the infamous hose clamps will eliminate one of these frequently needed supplies...

abs controller???

er.. no.... nor is it the stability control (DSC). Both of those controllers are about the size of a hand held multimeter, far too small for that large opening. I have to assume it's where the battery was once stored and the location has since changed but the area under hood has not. I have to check the pictures of the 335i that I had as a loaner and see if the space still exists in the newer body style.

Just a shot in the dark here but I think it is there to fit all the equipment needed for the right hand version as the box is there on both sides or maybe just for tea and crumpit!:69

That area was for the DSC/ASC modules prior to the introduction of the Continental Teves Mk60 system.

I don't store anything there, but the owner of one car I looked at had a jug of coolant in there. He seemed rather alarmed when he noticed it had been left it in there...not a good thing for a prospective buyer to see, and very telling about the car :nono

I personally store nothing but air in there... But, I did see someone put a speaker in there...?

Lol, I dont know either... I guess if you have done everything possible to your car, and you are sleeping on money, and wipe your aiss with it, then I guess it's something u could do...

Storing tools in there sounds like a reasonable idea, though... I guess.

Tools are probably better off in the trunk. I like the jumper cable idea, though.
