I am getting ready to buy my pedal assembly for my track car and was wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these pedal assemblys. I see Jholder and SteveJ use a floor mount triple pedal set up. I plan on running a hanging pedal assembly unless a floor mount is a better way to go. Comments?

Tilton for sure, but bottom or top mount is personal preference.

You really need to try bottom mount before you take the plunge.

I liked the way my tilton 2-pedal hung setup worked on my e36, but i had a custom gas pedal, although you can use the OEm one no problem.

You just need to watch out with the steering column if you are using OEM with the hanging, to make sure there is clearance.

Other than having slightly easier access with floor mount, its really personal preference on the configuration.

I really don't have a preference. I am used to floor mount since that is what my Porsche had. The floor mount Tilton setup looks nice b/c you can move all three pedals as a unit. How did the throttle linkage/pedal work out on the floor mount?

Floor mount is a bit harder to install as far as the lines go, of corse depending on how much room you do have. I just had to change a master on my floor mount and it was a pain.

You can use soft lines, and assuming the pedal assembly is just bolted into a mount, you just unbolt it to service.

I recently looked into a Tilton 2 pedal set up...NLA. Seems Tilton is not interested in maintaing their "lower end" stuff. Pony up.

Jack, who told you they were NLA? That does not sound right.

I'd have to check the specific P/N I looked into but my main Tilton distributor tells me Tilton is moving away from anything lower end in their pedal lineup. They had long been out of some of this stuff, Tilton was not producing it any longer thus NLA. Some other distributors may still have them, I didn't go beyond this and I don't know all of the models discontinued.

Cheers.

Hmm, interesting. I emailed my contact at tilton (Managing engineer) to see whats up. That would suck if its true, but it does not sound like something they would do with so many people using those products. Their new 900 series is amazing though.

Although, if they ditch the 600 series, the 900 series production will ramp up, and prices will go down, as that is the reason for their current high price - limited production.

I like my floor mounts. Ergonomically, I can't tell the difference between hung and floor mounted pedals when I am in the middle of a race - but then again, I used to drive a 993.

And changing a MC is easy - I call up Mark, my lead tech and say, "change the front MC to 15/16 please," and then it happens. ;)

Jack, your information is wrong. Supply has been low recently due to new developments. If anything the product line is increasing, not decreasing.

Cool. I would go easy on him, there are so many Tilton distributors these days, its easy for rumors to start from something simple as a slowdown in production due to new developments.

I could not see Tilton discontinuing such a poplar product.
